Treat yourself this Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is the perfect time to enjoy good times, good food and the company of your family and friends. Whether you’re treating your mum to a casual lunch or brunch, or you’re being taken out yourself it’s important you’ll be looking your best. Not just any ladies clothes will do. It’s time to give yourself a treat with a new outfit.
With the big day falling in mid March, spring is well and truly upon is, so it’s an opportunity to step out in the latest styles for Spring / Summer 2012.
Prints
You just can’t escape prints already this year. Whenever you step out onto the street any number of dazzling designs will dance in your vision. Tropical prints are going to be seen a lot this year.
Nautical
This summer it’s time to deck yourself out in all things nautical. Think plaids, stripes, and of course dark royal navy. If you want to bring a little colour to your outfit this Mother’s Day, but are a little put off by prints, stripes could be the way to go.
Flowing creamy neutrals
This is ideal for a really feminine look; go for pyjama style flowing tunics – think comfort as well as a classic look.
It’s all well and good keeping up with this season’s styles, but what you wear on the day will always depend on what you get up to. Here we’ve got a few ideas for you.
Casual lunch / brunch
If you’re off out for a casual lunch or brunch with the kids, or you’re treating your own mum opt for a comfortable wrap dress in a print or floral design. Whilst prints may be the big trend this year, nothing seems more appropriate for Mother’s Day than a floral number. Who knows, in March we may even get the chance to sit outside on a nice sunny Sunday. If you do, don’t brave the weather with just your dress. Team with a stylish shrug or bolero to keep yourself warm while staying on trend.
Remember even if it’s a casual affair, it pays to choose something a little dressier on a day like this.
Staying in
It’s not all about going out for Mother’s Day. If you’re having people over, or popping over to a loved one’s house stay casual, but bring an element of style. A striped nautical top is perfect for an occasion like this. Go for some comfy chinos or jeans to complete the look.

We all know the phrase “looks can be deceiving”. In the same way, there are tricks for women who are short vertically-challenged to make them appear taller than their actual height.
